Red Hill Waste Management Facility

Excursions to the Red Hill Waste Management Facility are available free of charge to groups and residents in the EMRC Region. Please be advised this is a tour of a landfill facility and includes a 45-minute bus tour around the site followed by the opportunity to visit the education centre to engage in activities aligned with the GREAT sort campaign.

Public Weekend Tours – residents and small community groups

A number of public weekend tours are scheduled throughout the year, held on a Saturday morning for residents within  the EMRC Member Council Region. Adults and children (at least 6 years of age) are welcome to attend and registrations via Humanitix are essential as places are limited.

Private Weekday Tours – schools and larger community groups

Available on weekdays only (pending availability).

Schools and community groups within our Member Council Region are eligible to book a free private weekday tour. Please note due to the nature of the site, excursions are only available for ≥ Year 3 students. There is strictly a maximum of one bus visiting the site at a time, and a minimum group size of 15 people is required.  Groups must provide their own bus. Smaller groups and individuals are encouraged to attend a scheduled public weekend tour (see our Humanitix page linked above).
